What a System One model is and why code verification/testing needs one

Summary

A newer kind of model built to make decisions has emerged recently called System One models. The blog I am looking for is one that describes this type of model in plain terms, and then argues that code verification is one of the clearest places they're needed. We should cover:Where the name comes from (Daniel Kahneman’s Thinking, Fast and Slow) and that TypesSafe AI introduced the term and its first model, Jev, in Sept 2026How it differs from a general model and what others have written on this - the main point being that agents don't just produce content, they make decisionsWhy testing and code verification need one - a test run is thousands of small decisions (see attached about our element selection model): Testing needs speed and consistencyGuessing is the worst outcomeNot every decision needs deep reasoningAgent-written code raises the stakesThis is a meaty topic, and opens the door to many spinoff pieces, ones that dig deeper into our own models and agents - but I think we start with a higher level piece here. We're open to discussing or setting up a call with an SME. If there's any scope details you'd like us to be aware of, please call them out in your note. Thanks
