Title

2020: A Record-Breaking Year for K-12 Cyberattacks and Data Breaches

Summary

COVID-19 had an enormous impact on K-12 cybersecurity, and it's likely that impact will continue on into the next academic year – even if remote learning doesn't. There were three times as many K-12 cybersecurity incidents in the second half of 2020 than in the first. Both teachers and students were targeted, especially in wealthy suburban districts. I can analyze this data to provide insight into the threat landscape and a "best practices" guide for US K-12 education moving into Fall 2021.
