With summer around the corner, studies suggest that a pandemic-era record 73 percent of Americans are planning to travel. Yet, too many employees are afraid to ask for time off to recharge, despite that endless research shows how vital it is to employee morale, productivity and, ultimately, business. In fact, a record 768 million U.S. vacation days went unused in 2018. In 2021, workers left an average of 33 percent of their PTO unused. I’ll round up ways to ask and negotiate for more vacation.
