Idea from Dawn Colclasure

What is Deaf Awareness Week?

In the US, it's called Deaf Awareness Week. In other countries, it's known as International Week of Deaf People and the International Day of Sign Languages. Regardless of what it's called, it's a whole week in September dedicated to spreading awareness about individuals who are Deaf and what the Deaf Culture is all about. My article will present an introduction to Deaf Awareness Week along with some history, how it helps spread awareness of the Deaf and sign language.
