As a licensed paramedic, Joel works in the community bringing out of hospital care to the patients, providing transportation to hospitals when necessary. Joel started in the fire service as a volunteer in 1993 with his local fire department, the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department. He has been associated with a fire department ever since then. A certified fire inspector, educator and special operations team member, his knowledge and love for the emergency services have allowed him to work with e-learning companies, enhancing their courses and creating new web based learning classes. His career started in local theaters, working as a lighting electrician, carpenter and stage technician. He advanced his theatrical career at Walt Disney World in Florida. During his time there he learned the value of good customer service.
