About Me

I just liked to make things up in my head. I had no intention of becoming a writer. It just happened. One day, you're playing in the yard, the next you're devouring the entirety of the Chronicles of Narnia and paying particular attention to the way the words weave together to create a living, breathing world. And then you're hooked. I graduated from Columbus State University with a degree in Creative Writing and realized my place was behind a desk...teaching preschool. After four months, when my contract ended, I swore never again and settled in to a different type of desk -- a writing desk. I've written for The Valley Parent, the Arden, more mom and pop blogs than I can count, and I've even published my own work. I love writing about things that illustrate the beauty of the world. I'm an optimist; I can't help it. Words are my life and livelihood. It's not so much what is said as how. And sometimes, to tell a good story you need to live one. I'm the guy who seeks out adventure no matter where I am, whether it's the trials of a pressing, immediate deadline or a cross-country bicycle ride (I did that. Choosing a volcanic country like Japan for days of non-stop pedaling was a painful choice.) I write about travel, food, social media, online marketing, and much more. No area is too obscure or esoteric. Something interesting or noteworthy can be found in any topic. Specialties: I love tight deadlines. Maybe it's the thrill of the pressure, maybe it's because it reminds me of waiting until the last minute to finish a college essay -- either way, I thrive under pressure.
