About Me

Computers have always stirred a passion in me. Since I was about ten years old, I have had access or owned one of some kind. My father built his first computer in late 1974 and I began learning how to program it in early 1975. That first computer, an Intel 8008, was very crude. My toddler's 'learning laptop' has more power-and memory. As time went on, I began developing code for various jobs I had and begun my career, in earnest, with a local video rental chain in 1992. My family is my number one priority and biggest joy. I have a 17 year old son, a six year old step son and, now, a 15 month old toddler. It has been a lot of fun being both a father and husband. I also enjoy science fiction, NASCAR racing and gaming. You are never too old to have fun. I also write a blog called ye Olde Half Byte Blog or just HalfByte. It is primarily about technology, but I also write about things, including family and theme parks. We love theme parks. I have been documenting my attempt at a startup company specializing in simple, low cost computer kits aimed at education and as something parents can build with their kids.(http://halfbyteblog.wordpress.com/)
