About Me

Briefly, I hold a bachelors in Environmental Studies and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a double-emphasis in Urban Planning & Policy Analysis. Although my doctorate in Interdisciplinary (Environmental Health) Engineering is on hold, the first part of my dissertation research, “Incorporating Occupational Risk in Heat Stress Vulnerability Mapping,” was published in the July/August 2014 issue of the Journal of Environmental Health. I am a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional, Neighborhood Development (LEED AP ND), and serve on the U.S. Green Building Council's Market Leadership Advisory Board. I also have a background in IT (former MCSD) and GIS, and have served in several recent roles as energy policy expert. In 2011, I won Planet Ark’s World Environment News Letter to the Editor Competition with my piece on the importance of conserving biodiversity, "The First Rule of Intelligent Tinkering (Is to Save All the Parts)."
