nDash Writer Profile for Miranda Brumbaugh

Content Marketing Certified Web Content Writer of 4.9 Million Words and Counting

About Me

For more than eight years I have been freelance writing professionally and very much full time. I am a write-aholic who has a hard time setting work aside even when traveling...especially while traveling. My main niche is in travel writing as I am a frequent flier and road trip enthusiast...or glutton for punishment. I'm also highly experienced in writing for the trucking industry.

Over the last four years, I've created more than half a million words about the trucking and transportation industries. I also research and write articles, blog posts, press releases, case studies, whitepapers, infographics, <10,000 word ebooks, scripts for video games, humorous content, and creative fiction.

To recharge my creative energy, I frequent the local libraries, travel often, and read voraciously. I love nature most of all. Since moving to Tacoma this spring, hikes in Washington's woods are my new obsession.

8 Incredible Outdoor Adventures in Rapid City and the Black Hills, SD

16 Things You Didn’t Know About South Dakota

"South Dakota might be located smack in the center of the US, but it still has more miles of shore than the beachcombers’ state. This is thanks in large part to Lake Oahe.."

A Virtual Visit With an Author

"Imagine hosting a children's story time event in South Dakota, in which the group is listening to a book being read by its author--who is sitting in his home in the UK. Imagine if that visit was free. Yes, free, that most loved word rarely whispered in libraries today. This is exactly what we are doing at the Platte Public Library on Dec. 11." **This was a project I led at the library where I worked for three years as a librarian in training to become the director.

Transportation Content Marketing Insights

"Right now the transportation industry is at a crossroads, and it’s a dynamite time to be a transportation content writer. You’ve got the soon-to-be old school method of driving a car versus the innovative concept of self-driving cars..."

Turkey Vacation Tours

"Turkey, the soil where ancient and Western civilizations took root, entices you to explore its wonders and exotic landscapes. Turquoise waters, underground cities and cave dwellings encourage you to embark on adventures during a vacation tour in Turkey..."

Ways to Save at the Airport

Freelance Writer

In 2009, I began working as a freelance writer doing travel articles. Today my focus remains in travel writing, but I have specialized in the trucking industry. I've written more than half a million words about truck driving and the trucking industry in the last four years. That's just a fraction of the 4 million total paid words I've written. I'm an expedient, efficient, and economical writer who has written about everything from chiropractors to cryptocurrency.

I was a librarian training at Northern State University in South Dakota to be certified. As a certified librarian, I was on track to become the library director. While librarian I was manager of the adult book club, volunteer coordinator with high school volunteers, and director of the summer reading program. I also managed advertising, marketing, and social media for the library. This included writing a weekly column called the Loquacious Librarian. As the LL, I covered the latest library news.
