While studying economics, I found himself comfortably falling down the rabbit hole of restaurant work, ultimately opening a restaurant consulting business and working as a private wine buyer. On a whim, I moved to China, and in my first week following a triumphant pub quiz victory, I found myself bleeding on the floor based on my arrogance. The same man who put me there offered me a job lecturing for the University of Wales in various sister universities throughout the Middle Kingdom. While primarily lecturing in descriptive and comparative statistics, I simultaneously earned an additional degree from the University of Wales-Bangor.
During my downtime from lecturing, I returned to writing about food & wine. I was named the Food & Wine Editor for Hint Magazine, while also writing for the Shanghai Daily, and the China Daily. Additionally, being in China, I pitched ideas to several larger publications abroad while traveling China.
For the last decade plus, I've worked nearly exclusively as a full-time freelance writer in a variety of fields too numerous to name here.
