I've been working as a freelance writer and editor for eight years, ever since I graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a degree in English and a minor in history. I love writing articles, researching, pitching fun ideas, and making magic with words.
As a grammar guru always ready for a new challenge, I'm improving my editing skills by studying copy editing through the University of San Diego Extension. I tutor 4th-6th graders in English grammar and writing when I'm not researching and writing magazine articles.
I'm passionate about sustainability, gardening, green-living, family, health, nature, history, travel, the military lifestyle, and education. I'm a Classical educator with a passion for learning and always have a book in hand (and another five or so on my nightstand). I write book reviews for several national publications. Based out of Fruit Cove, Florida, I enjoy hiking, searching for shark teeth on the beach, visiting and writing about small towns, and meeting interesting people. I am always up for a challenge and a new adventure.

I direct a licensed Classical Conversations community for homeschooled children pre-k through 6th grade in St. Johns County, Florida. Classical Conversations is an International Corporation recognized as a game-changer in the education industry. Our first year, we had 21 students in three classes. Due to our high quality program and word of mouth, we grew our second year to a full, 48-student, six-classroom campus and had to move to a larger facility.

Foundations Tutor-- I engage students in grades pre-k through 6th in their once-weekly Classical Conversations class, equipping and encouraging their parents to educate their student at home the other four days of the week. I introduce the week's new material (Latin, math, English grammar, geography, history, science, and timeline) in fun and creative ways, lead them in public speaking exercises, discover science through hands-on projects and experiments utilizing the scientific method, lead fine arts (music theory, drawing, orchestra study, and great artists), and play weekly review games to keep material fresh and interesting. Essentials-- As an Essentials tutor, I introduce students in 4th-6th grades to English grammar, sentence structure, and style. I help them build speed and accuracy through fast-paced math games and work with students to become strong writers utilizing IEW's History Based Writing Lessons.
