About Me

This May, I earned a Master of Science in journalism from Columbia University, where I was in Professor Samuel G. Freedman’s esteemed “Book Writing” class.  After receiving my Bachelor's degree in English from Bryn Mawr College in 2014, I spent four years working as a writer and reporter. I wrote a short story titled "Denial" that is published in an anthology that was released in 2018 called Not Who I Pictured: Sixteen Photographs. Sixteen Stories. I have 100+ bylines appearing on Refinery29, Thrillist, Girlboss and more.

Why This Tech Founder Spends Time Connecting Creatives In Her Backyard

Great ideas are often accidental. And this is no exception. It all began with a simple question: What is the best way to meet and connect with like-minded creative people? In April of 2016, Sophia Parsa, a 26-year-old tech entrepreneur hosted a dinner in the backyard of her parents’ house. She invited 20 strangers who worked in various fields, in the hopes of making a few meaningful connections and bringing people together. 60 people showed up.

I Lost & Gained A Sibling In One Month

I was the luckiest sister in the world. I was one of three kids in my family, with the two most wonderful brothers imaginable. The three of us were close: the talk-every-day kind of close, the best-friend kind of close. So I was the luckiest sister in the world — and then I was the most heartbroken. Last summer, on the morning of June 21, my mother called with devastating news. On the phone, all my mother could say was, “Bobby...he didn’t wake up...you have to come home.”

5 things to keep in mind if you want your clothes to influence your mood

When we get dressed each day, the majority of us don’t know exactly how much impact our sartorial choices have on our mood. The clothing we wear affects us on many levels, and when you think about it, it makes sense. If you purchase workout clothes that you love, you’ll be more inspired and inclined to hit the gym. If you wear a pair of jeans that get you excited because they fit just right, your confidence soars.
