As a freelancer who has written for children’s magazines for 20 years, I’ve had the challenge of introducing young readers to a wide range of topics and the thrill of hooking their attention with writing that’s both educational and entertaining. For Boys’ Life and National Geographic Kids, I’ve covered everything from ancient Greek myths to the secrets behind Star Wars, funny money facts to amazing animal pals. Several of my stories are included in the 2010-2018 editions of the National Geographic Kids Almanac, National Geographic Kids 125 True Stories of Amazing Animals, and 125 Wacky Roadside Attractions. I am the sole writer of "Angry Birds Explore the World," a 96-page special issue of NG Kids that was a partnership with Rovio. My book "Weather"--a level 1 National Geographic Kids easy reader--debuted in July 2013. This book was selected by the New York Public Library as a recommended title for its 2014 Summer Reading Challenge. It also was selected for the 2015 Scholastic Summer Reading Booklist. It has been included in curriculum guides across the country. My second title, "Seed to Plant" (also a level 1 reader), was released January 2014. It has been included in curriculum guides across the country. My third book, "Coral Reefs" (a level 2 reader), was published in July 2015. My most recent title, "Welcome, Little One" is a keepsake baby book for new parents.
