Co-Owner

I co-developed a program for students called G.R.O.W. (Gratitude, Resilience, Optimism, Willpower) for Well-being. Our goal is to provide young people with evidence-based tools or interventions based on the science of positive psychology or human flourishing to increase well-being. According to the Canadian Mental Health Association approximately 1 in 5 children and youth in Ontario has a mental health challenge and approximately 70% of these challenges begin in childhood or one’s youth (CMHA, 2018). The Ready, Set, GROW! presentation is grounded in positive psychology which is a relatively new but growing area. Positive psychology aims to provide people with strategies to achieve their potential, a greater sense of well-being, contentment and fulfillment in life. The application of positive psychology in education is called Positive Education which is defined as: empirically validated interventions and programs from positive psychology that have impact on student well-being (White and Waters, 2015). Evidence to support the impact of positive education is growing and reports some of the benefits such as higher grades, fewer absences, better study habits and improved self-control (Duckworth, 2015). We would be happy to present at your school or develop a specific workshop for your students.
