Did you know that 4 billion blogs are published on the Internet every. single. day?
That means that:
I haaaaate to sound like a Debbie Downer, but it's about to get worse.
Because there is a very good reason why there's so much content available online right now: that's where consumers are turning for information during every phase of the buyer's journey.
According to LiveChatInc.com, the average person consumes 11.4 pieces of content before making a purchase decision.
So if your company is not one of the local businesses that receive 88% of the mobile searches conducted every day, if you're not producing content that's:
1. High quality
2. Technically optimized to be found by online users
3. Able to quickly communicate value to your end user
you're missing out on the potential to bring revenue into your organization, period.
Many of my clients have come to me with one of three stories:
"We want to create more content to increase brand awareness, but we don't have the bandwidth to keep a consistent production cadence. The [blog/social/newsletter] keeps falling to the bottom of our to-do list."
"We've published a lot of content but no one ever sees it. Our engagement rate is very low, the views and/or impressions have flatlined and we feel like we're wasting our time."
"We have content, it's getting seen by our target market, but it's not resonating with the customers we want to bring in the door."
I started writing professionally in 2012, but it took me YEARS of working, both as an employee and as a business owner, to understand the full range of content issues that businesses face, and build up my toolkit to get in there and fix the problems.
Here's what one of my longest-standing clients had to say about our relationship:
"Becky spent time learning our business and helped us establish our brand. Her contributions include consistent creation of quality content and the management of a solid social media strategy, which has led to a larger audience, greater reach, and increased brand awareness."

This is a blog from a MSP that focuses on providing technology that drives business results.
I have worked with Brightmetrics, a ShoreTel data mining company for several years. We partnered together to write a customer success story with the ticket sales department of the Cleveland Indians.
This is a blog I've written as a part of my marketing strategy for my own brand, Elephant Key Marketing. It definitely has a fun and playful tone, which is not something I get to do for my clients often.
I've been a marketing consultant primarily responsible for marketing content creation with this client since 2015. I help them create and execute marketing strategy, and together we have written more than 100 blogs!
I worked there from 5/2015 until now
I've been managing the CorsPro social media strategy for more than two years. In that time,we've increased their website visits from social media sites by 671%. We implemented a unique blend of corporate posting, individual representation and direct messaging to reach the largest audience possible.

I've worked with Brightmetrics to help them promote their ShoreTel data mining software since 2015. Today, we partner primarily on the production of marketing collateral in the form of case studies, including a recent piece in which we highlighted their contribution to the Cleveland Indians fan communication. In a world where they're translating technical benefits into business outcomes, I was happy to help them craft their copy.
