I write to be able to learn, explore and share with others many topics that I am curious about. These may include new business ideas, politics, the environment, and social issues. I am a victim advocate and volunteer in court to assist children in foster care.
To relax I enjoy being out in nature, whether that is gardening or hiking. I love dogs and have two that were adopted from the local "dog pound."
I get a great feeling of satisfaction from volunteering and have done so for many years. I have been a volunteer for the state of Georgia on the Child Abuse Prevention Treatment Act on the Children's Justice Act (CAPTA CJA) panel where I manage the group that makes recommendations to the state for projects to fund that relate to this topic.
I also have volunteered for Carroll County CASA as a court-appointed special advocate to be the voice of foster children that are in foster homes for over ten years.
The U.S. cannot keep ignoring the injuries and deaths happening daily in our country. This post gives readers a place to start to affect change for the better.
