During my career, I've written countless Blogs, Articles, SEO Content, Case Studies, White Papers, SOPs, User Guides, Policy Manuals, Contracts, Project Plans, and Proposals.
But the real question people want to know is, why did I go from working in Corporate America to becoming a freelancer?
At my core, writing was always my first great love.
When I was 13, I had my life planned out; I was going to become a war correspondent and marry Anderson Cooper.
Neither of those things turned out as planned.
I majored in Journalism but quickly realized that the real money was in Corporate America.
I decided that Anderson Cooper could wait, and instead focused my talents in the business world.
As a detailed, driven, type A personality, I was every company's dream. I had the analytical skills to create data-driven solutions, the writing skills to communicate those solutions, and charisma to bring stakeholders on board.
I spent 15 years in the corporate sector, and I loved every moment of it. I traveled the world, lived in multiple countries. While at Apple, I led projects that saved 5+ million and are still in existence today.I can walk into any Apple store and see the fruit of my labor.
As I started inching closer to 40, I started thinking back to those old writing dreams, and while I was still doing a lot of business and technical writing, something was missing. I needed a change.
