After studying journalism at New York State Colleges, I made my way to Wapping and the sports desk at The News of the World and The Sun. Two years of watching goalless draws in the back of beyond on cold, rain-soaked Monday nights and I started to run out of words to describe ‘schoolboy defending’ and ‘a six pointer’. I was ready for a change of scenery.
I joined The Mirror as a music correspondent and while my LP collection swelled, I remained restless. A spell in Central Government communications and media relations followed, before speech writing for John Prescott also began to take its toll.
Since then I’ve provided a freelance copywriting service to businesses and agencies all over the U.S and other parts of the world, supplying words and ideas which has helped start-ups and some of the best known brands define and develop their corporate and consumer messages, tell their stories and sell their products and services across print and the web.
I enjoy sport (although a little less vigorously these days), listening to music, researching local history and studying criminology. I live in rural Northamptonshire with my wife and two children.
