About Me

Award-winning editor and writer with experience leading an international magazine to success, winning 14 industry honors for excellence in 12 years. However, the biggest compliment I have received from readers is that after I arrived at that magazine, it greatly improved.

I also have covered news and wrote in-depth stories for Consumers Digest magazine and led the creation of the annual Stanford Anesthesia magazine for Stanford University School of Medicine's anesthesia department. I have B2B magazine and web experience, as well as newspaper experience. I am grateful for the latter, because it taught me the importance of meeting deadlines, no matter how tight they are, and helped get me to where I am today.

Whether through writing or editing, I have a passion for helping you communicate your organization's or members' stories, educating and entertaining readers. I am able to understand your readers and connect with them, conveying your message.

As a leader of a marketing communications team, I also learned the importance of engaging a team to create a product and that everyone plays a vital role in that process, no matter how big or small. Your team members are your biggest asset. That said, I have valuable skills that enable me to work with a team to create high-quality communications, whether digital or print.

I earned my MBA in marketing from Loyola University Chicago in 2014 to assist in my role as a marketing communications leader. I have applied the theory and hard skills I learned during my studies to my work ever since. My education has proven to be an asset, and I thrived on creating integrated marketing plans, analyzing statistical data and delving into financial reports. My hard work paid off as I worked full-time and put myself through grad school: I was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. and walked away with invaluable skills.

To further utilize my marketing skills while employing my skill and passion for writing, I became a blogger. I am a health editor, writer and blogger, utilizing SEO strategy. I have blogged for Paloma Health, a D2C company, and for takethatbreastcancer.com. At the latter, I write about my experiences as a breast cancer survivor. I share news about cancer research and other useful information. My hope is that others find necessary support and/or insight through reading about shared concerns.

I also blog about the dynamic apprenticeship industry, illustrating my skills at writing about diverse topics.

I interviewed physicians for the annual Stanford Anesthesia magazine and wrote about their work in these profiles. It's amazing how you can tell a story in a short 350 or so words.
