Website Content Writer, SEO Writer and Content Marketing Specialist
I’m a professional website content writer and a highly experienced SEO, with an active history of building and optimising websites going back to the last century. Since then I’ve been involved with many aspects of Internet content writing and content marketing.
I now specialize in web content writing. Having built and SEO optimised over 300 websites since 1997 and written the content for all of them, I’m now almost solely concerned with the writing of website content for my clients, although I know how to integrate high quality writing with 'off-page' SEO disciplines such as authoritative and powerful backlinking methods.
I’m an English Lit graduate with a Masters in Modern Literature, so you can expect my writing standards to be very high, with no nasty surprises. As a business owner for many years, I know about the importance of Return on Investment, keeping to time and budget constraints and, crucially, meeting deadlines.
My most recent project was for a very large ecommerce site which was an online retailer of hydroponic equipment and supplies and also had its own blog with feature articles and “how to” articles. The project lasted a total of 16 months, and I wrote all of the content, including long-form articles and more than 1,000 product sales pages/product description pages.
I optimised every page of this long-form content meticulously for SEO to get an excellent ranking for my client’s website and, even though the site was very new and had only a very low DA score at that stage, many of those pages managed to achieve 1st page listings in Google after only a few weeks because of their carefully optimised on-page content alone, and before any backlinking campaign had even begun.
Apart from my main portfolio of writing I also have a separate portfolio of product description pages, with notes at the end showing precisely the methods I use to gain high rankings using on-page methods. So I'm a specialist in product description pages and use only “white hat” methods which are designed to last.
I now only write content for websites, rather than building them, although I’m quite familiar with the technical side of things; my book Wordpress SEO was published in 2013 and is still available on Amazon. I’ve written several other books and ebooks, press releases and articles, and I also use content marketing as part of my marketing arsenal.

I'm often asked by clients what content they should put on their own websites, and in particular what content Google expects to find on their site, given the nature and subject matter of their own particular sites or blogs. So I wrote this short PDF which shows the content Google expects to see, and also where to find the original subject matter; this content may be rewritten to produce beautiful, unique, Copyscape-passed, plagiarism-free web content that they'll be proud to call their own.

This portfolio contains some product description/product sales pages from a project I worked on from 2020 to 2022. I wrote about 1,000 product pages for this large ecommerce site which sold hydroponic equipment and supplies. At the end of the portfolio is a short section which details the specific SEO methods I used on these pages to achieve best-practice on-page optimisation. Several of these pages were indexed on page 1 of Google without backlinks.

I built up my Internet marketing service from nothing starting in 1997. I offered website design and building services, SEO (inluding local SEO) aimed at getting client websites to #1 on Google, and content writing. My greatest coup was for an Australian immigration company; my site came straight in at #1 for the keyword 'emigrate to Australia', knocking the official Australian government's immigration site into #2 position! I currently specialize in writing web content and content marketing.
