Writing has been part of my life longer than I can remember. I started writing news stories for my parents in grade school but a brief stint at a newspaper during my freshman year of college taught me that editorial writing may not be my passion. I quickly turned to advertising/promotional writing and fell head of heels.
For the last 18 years, I have been working in agencies or for agencies as a writer/producer. However, one thing I did bring with me from my newspaper days is an interest in research. Over the last several years, much of my work has leaned toward brand strategy. I truly enjoy asking questions about what motivates leaders, what drives employees... what makes their services or products so damn special. Truly, I love getting to a company's WHY and then helping to shape their voice and tone so they can fully express their brand, their products/services and make authentic connections with their audience.
My brand strategy experience spans several industries but as a copywriter, I have spent a good portion of my career writing for the ag industry, healthcare and technology industries. From digital to print, radio to blogs, there's a good chance I've done it.
I'm curious, a quick learner and detail-oriented. I'm also a mother of two (three if you include my puggle), a runner (although I've been spending more time in HIIT and spin classes these days) and a novice at meditation. Born and raised in the Midwest, I love being outdoors and the quiet of small town living.
