Writing with almost 30 years’ experience in the banking, finance, and payments industry.

About Me

I am over 29 years into my career in banking, finance, and payments, and still going. My focus has been consumer and retail payments, having started out in the payment card industry. Over the years, I have developed expertise on almost every aspect and component, both business and technical, of the end-to-end payment eco-system and its participants. From point of acceptance and the retailer, to acquirer, through to the issuer and consumer, and the role of the payment scheme. My passion has been the impact and implementation of emerging products and technologies to the commerce ecosystem to create stakeholder benefit.

Recently it occurred to me that I have spent a considerable part of my professional life writing. I have written articles, white papers, analysis documents, technical documents, standards, specifications, and business recommendations. Almost all these documents have been for customers. Additionally, I have been asked to present my ideas, thoughts, and observations at numerous conferences over the years.

I enjoy writing and telling a story about what, why and how of the emerging trends and impacts of the industry in which I have almost three decades experience. This has led me to pursue opportunities through freelance writing.

I am seeking engagements that will allow me to write content related to banking, finance, payments, and digital commerce. Of particular interest is to describe how emerging technologies and methods are changing the commerce ecosystem. I am comfortable writing a range of content – from general articles designed to explain a concept clearly and simply to the general public, to detailed business or technical documents for industry experts.
