About Me

Hey, I’m Katherine, and I’m a content writer who applies skills I've learned as an actor to help all within a health and wellness context. I also love to write about geeky-type things, and I'm based in Sacramento, California.

I act under the name of Katherine Stroller, which is also where I have my movement coaching business.

I've got over a decade worth of experience in the acting world. Having trained in other areas such as playwrighting, costume design, makeup design, dialect work, and movement coaching, I bring an array of knowledge to the content that I write.

Much like writing, these are all detail-oriented crafts. I’m always fascinated by how these elements come together to create the larger picture that becomes the stories that audiences then consume, both on and off stage.

I've also been an educator for several years, teaching students ranging from ages 5-70+ on acting, movement, playwriting, and other ways the elements of acting can aid other parts of life, such as public speaking and stress relief.

As a client-focused writer, my goal is to help make your job easier. I can handle the content stuff so you can do the things that you need to do.

There's always something new to learn, and I'm always interested in discovering how to apply what I know as a multi-faceted artist to the wider world.

Why a standardized patient program is essential for medical students

Applying to medical schools is an incredibly daunting task. What is sometimes forgotten is the importance of finding a school with a standardized patient program. Learning medicine with the aid of standardized patient encounters provides a safe in-the-moment learning environment for students to grow their communication skills, which is key for any practitioner.

3 free and easy ways to aid your body

3 free and easy ways to relax your body via breathwork. For actors AND all other humans. After all, breathing is free, right? And hey, if we're not breathing, we tend to not report ourselves as being very happy.

How being a standardized patient transformed my acting

As an actor, I had no idea there was this world of incredible possibility where I could both utilize and scratch my acting and teaching itches simultaneously. Enter the role of the standardized patient. A standardized patient, or SP, is an actor who works with medical, nursing, physician assistant, and dentist students to give them opportunities to (put lovingly) screw up with me so they don’t screw up with a patient.

Busy? The best way to keep movement alive

As an actor, by default, you end up juggling a lot of things. Auditions, searching for auditions, traveling for auditions (or setting up your home studio), marketing, researching for new monologues or songs, staying in touch with what’s current, vocal work, movement work…the list goes on and on and on. (I’m sure I missed many a thing that could be listed here.) Let’s face it, time is limited. (Until time-turners become a reality, of course. ) We’ve all got 24hrs in a day to do the things we
