I'm a Freelance Copywriter and Content writer and have been writing for businesses for over a decade. I began my writing journey whilst in college (between high school and university here in the UK) and have not looked back.
I began writing for (predominantly) tourism, heritage, and culture industries, with a sprinkle of education. As time went on and I went to university, I began writing for B2B and Technology companies.
I graduated in 2016 with a BA (Hons) in Tourism Management and focused on Marketing. I really enjoy the challenge of writing about complex products, ideas, services that focus on solving the customer problem in a way that shows them instead of telling them.
I continued my education, and in 2017, I graduated from Keele University with a Master of Research in Social Science (with a focus on Psychology). I've used this to help me inform my research and understand the buyer mentality in more detail.
You see, we don't buy from a rational mindset; it's an emotional response, and to truly tap into this, we need to understand what issues our buyers are facing and how we can bridge the gap to solve this.
I have discovered over time a fantastic way to help businesses increase their sales and increase credibility is through this beautiful way of writing. I have written for Travel, Technology, Education, Renewable Energy, Finance, B2B... the list goes on. But I always enjoy what I'm creating.
Once I finished my Masters, I completed a School Direct PGCE and began a fruitful teaching career. However, by 2019, the thrill of Freelance Writing had sunk deep into me, and I just had to continue full-time.
Why do I love writing so much?
Well, to write useful and engaging content, you need to understand the topic and people. To make sure that you know the subject completely takes research. It's like conducting your own investigation, and once finished, you then have the challenge of writing articles clearly and in an easy-to-understand way.
I'm also quite nosey, and I love writing compelling Case Studies because of this. I get to conduct interviews to determine how a customer feels about how a product or service works for them. I get to provide the words used in social proof to help my clients increase their business opportunities.
I believe that joy comes from learning; you see, I love to do research. In fact, I love it so much that I have been a student in one form or another my whole life. Whether it be through university, self-teaching, or short courses - there is rarely a time I am not learning.
