I am a currently a 5th grade teacher, passionate about teaching and learning. I work with general education classrooms as well as English language learners. I studied linguistics and teaching English to speakers of other languages in my undergraduate program and enjoy the details of language. I particularly enjoyed studying phonetics and phonology. In graduate school I enjoyed studying language acquisition and language development on my way to completing a Master of Education.
Upon completion of my master's, I spent a few months traveling on my own and visiting friends in Asia, Africa, and Europe. I'm now settled with my husband and baby in our home in Washington State, and enjoy gardening, sewing, crocheting, listening to history podcasts, and reading biographies.
I am interesting in writing about or proofing and editing pieces on travel, cultural intersection, languages, history, arts and crafts, and education.
