About Me

Rachael is an experienced, passionate and internationally minded writer, interviewer, film critic and editor; a renowned tastemaker.

Having begun her career as a journalist specialising in Film/TV trends, Modern Art and Digital/VFX, she was the Publishing Editor of IF Magazine (and its online newsletter if.com.au) for six years; a freelancer for the likes of The Sydney Morning Herald, Artlines, Screenhub, Online Asia and British Cinematographer, and ran AFTRS’ creative Q&A ‘Friday On My Mind’. 

She served on the FIPRESCI juries for the London, Sydney and Venice International Film Festivals, and has been a regular attendee at Content London.

Rachael spent a decade working in-house as a development producer for John Edwards Southern Star, Essential Media & Entertainment and the boutique film and television company Easy Tiger Productions (under the Fremantle International banner.) At the latter, she was the Development Producer of all three seasons of JACK IRISH for ABC TV (2016-2021), adapted from the Peter Temple novels. Responsible for commissioning and overseeing development, she has run writers’ rooms in Sydney, Melbourne and Paris and was selected for the C21 ‘Showrunner Masterclass’ (London). 

She co-created the AACTA-, ADG- and AWG-award winning SBS series SUNSHINE (2017), which was picked up by the US streamer Topic; and the Séries Mania selected THE PRINCIPAL (2015.) 

She is now Head of Scripted for the Melbourne prod co Sweetshop & Green.
