nDash Writer Profile for Katie McGuire

Headline

NYC-based editor and writer

About Me

I received my BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College in 2014, and have since worked as an editor of both fiction and nonfiction, writing fiction and blog posts for freelance opportunities and in my spare time.

For six years, I worked my way up through the editorial hierarchy at Pegasus Books, working on 15–20 titles every year from acquisition to publication. During my time at Pegasus, I also took on freelance work, editing books at Crooked Lane Books/Alcove Press and both editing and writing serialized romance stories at Radish Fiction. I have previously written for Book Riot.

When I began my current role at Tapas in the fall of 2020, my main focus initially was to acquire projects and writers for the platform. Now, I aid in the development of original content and edit weekly chapters from our talented writers.

I like keeping up with publishing news and reading and reviewing books. In my spare time, I like to catch up on the superhero comics I love, try to make a dent in the ever-growing list of shows on my to-watch list, and work on new ideas for my comics-focused podcast, "Is It An X-Man?"
