Hi there, I'm just your local farm reporter over here in Iowa!
I've spent the last decade sharing the latest agribusiness news on three TV stations covering two-thirds of the state. I've produced a pro-bono documentary by myself and I'm an award-winning reporter recognized by the National Association of Farm Broadcasters. I have full confidence working with many different types of people and business.
Agriculture truly touches so many aspects of society, it's not hard to get familiarized with all types of topics and trends. Journalism has taught me to wear many hats, I can write, edit, film, and anchor on a deadline. Not to mention, I'm self-motivated — I've been a solo act for the last eight years in producing my three minute report. And if I don't know it, I always find someone or someplace that does. Learning more about subjects I don't know is the first step towards being a better informed writer and reporter.
On a personal note, I'm a graduate of Iowa State University and married to a beautiful wife with two lovable cats. My personal interests include reading, listening to the news, and keeping up with current trends on social media.
In this award-winning report, I cover the 2020 derecho and the affect it had on Iowa crops, farmers, and bins. The report features my writing style and execution, showing how I deliver timely and accurate information on a tight deadline.
This pro-bono documentary shows how a soybean planted in Illinois makes it to a plate in South Korea. This shows my writing style and execution, and how I'm capable of working with dozens of sources and people to put together high quality media.
