I am a rising freshman at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in journalism. I have a wealth of experience in the industry for someone my age--I served as an Editor-in-Chief of my high school newspaper for two years, and I also spent a summer working for Ideastream Public Media, NPR's member station in Cleveland, Ohio. Additionally, I have earned two Scholastic Writing Awards for my sportswriting.

This article previewed the 2021-2022 offseason for Major League Baseball's Cleveland Guardians. The piece received a Gold Key in the journalism category of the 2021-22 regional Scholastic Writing Competition.

I wrote seven web stories, some primarily using my own research and others requiring me to interview people to gain information for my stories. I learned valuable skills in formulating relevant and insightful questions, as well as simply holding a conversation with someone I'm unfamiliar with. I also wrote Cut and Copy scripts for Ideastream's afternoon radio show. I combined my own reporting with a brief audio clip to give the radio host a 30-40 second script to read.
