I am an Irish woman living aboard in Seoul, South Korea. I have spent the last four years teaching in immersive ESL environments, and developed a keener understanding of the impact of writing and editing as a result.
I have a wide variety of experience in differing industries which reflects my adaptability and ability to meet the work load and thrive in the learning experience. Learning the voice of a job whether it be communicating with students, their parents, customers or clients is something I enjoy immensely. I am able to adapt the language I use, and come with an impressive knowledge of how a language is reflected in context. This has only benefitted my writing and abilities to write in such varied contexts including for and with people whose first language is not English.
I spent four years in university studying English, Philosophy and Creative Writing. During that time, I built a huge bank of experience in a variety of writing fields including; fiction, non-fiction, blog writing, poetry, film and TV writing, and copywriting. I briefly worked as a luxury brand copywriter before moving into educational communications post my degree. Alongside this, I have had valuable experience as a content creator, production assistant, and communication lead in previous roles.
In my free time, I have been dedicated to developing an independent writing project "Letters to Myself" to use my creative writing outside of my work setting. This project, linked below, has been excellent opportunity to use my creative muscles in a way beyond communicating with parents and teachers in my work.

In my current role as a head of my age department, my writing has been delicately curated to communicate with parents in many respects, especially given the nature of communicating with those who speak English as a second language.

Communicating with the students via email, and prospective candidates over the phone developed an incredible writing skill and ability to tailor and generate content for a wide variety of people from people around the world.

During my time content writing for Irish competitor to ASOS, I created written content for the social media, website and blog for the company. This included research and writing articles on trending fashion and beauty, and other key media for the company. Ran social media profiles including writing captions for content and writing emails for the company to be sent to customers and with freelance creators for the brand.

During my time as production assistant to this independent production company, I read slush, wrote treatments on scripts and read novels and created summary for producers to use for projects. I also liaised with a wide variety of clients and other industry contributors on behalf of management for scheduling projects, emailing with producers, editors and directors, and contributing to writing projects and script editing on behalf of the company.
